Dave Statik with a great contact poi trick/tutorial. Statik goes over the ins and outs of the 9 square Contact Poi Roll framework. Some of you might have seen Jeremiah Johnston recording this at Kinetic Fire 2014, but here’s the recap for you.

The goal is to combine contact rolls and flowers. It is essential to use multiple stacking techniques and hand jumps to get the feel for a contact roll. It’s important to practice superimposition while maintaining a straight wrist with this trick! The roll entry is different than a traditional roll as you will have jump the poi across your arm and kick the ball handle with your elbow to catch it and freeze. The freeze will allow you an extra bit of control. After you roll it off your shoulder, bring the poi back into a stall to re-enter on the other side.

Good luck! Please post videos of your attempts with #faituesdays. We look forward to seeing your progress![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
