The FireDrums XIII Video Tutorial Contest has opened up submissions for the Video Tutorial Contest! They are taking submissions until March 15. The prizes are pretty huge as you will have the chance to win one of 3 ticket and travel stipend combos to FireDrums. You don’t have to enter this contest if you want to teach at FireDrums (but it might help pay your way đ ). Winners will be required to teach 3 classes at the fest.
Some Basic Rules
- Only one entry per participant allowed.
- All video entries must be between 1.5 and 4 minutes MAX. Exceeding the time limit will be an automatic disqualification. You are only allowed a 5 second âupload buffer.â
- All entries must be new. Â No recycling old videos.
- The title of the video on YouTube must be â(your tutorialâs title): FireDrums XIIIâ
- Be descriptive and include the prop in your title.
- All entry videos must begin with the FireDrums splash screen, available here:
- (Open link, press play and right click on video. Â Choose “Save Video As” )
- If you are restricted to a mobile device and are having trouble, email workshops@firedrums.org and we will email it to you. If you are still having trouble, contact us and weâll have an alternative for you.
- Entrants must submit a minimum of 3 workshop proposals for FireDrums XIII in conjunction with their video submission. Â (Proposals factor into judging. Â See âJudgingâ below.)
- Winners are expected to teach 3 workshops at FireDrums XIII.
- Note: Workshop submissions may, but are not required to be the same topic or even prop as your video tutorial.

- Submissions must be received in full by 11:59 pm PST Sunday, March 15th, 2015 (See âSubmitting your FireDrums XIII Video Tutorialâ below)
Teams may also submit but different rules and regulations apply.

If you are already planning on coming to FireDrums and want to volunteer to teach a class or two, you can do so by filling out the FireDrums XIII Volunteer Workshop Submission Form. Volunteer submissions are open until April 5th.
